Ground Ivy

This broadleaf weed is also referred to as "Creeping Charlie" and aggressively invades lawn areas crowding out desirable turfgrass.

Ground Ivy Facts:

  • Found from spring through fall
  • Perennial weed with an extensive root system
  • Low-growing, typically under 2" tall
  • Small scalloped leaves ranging from 1/2 - 1 1/2" 
  • Small, trumpet-shaped purplish-blue flowers approx. 1/4"
  • Commonly found in damp, shady areas but will tolerate full sun
  • Spreads primarily by creeping stems that root-in throughout the lawn

    Arich and his partner went above and beyond yesterday applying leafgro and organic soil enhancement to my huge yard. Parts of the front lawn had developed a fungus and I can almost hear my grass and soil letting out a sigh of relief after the application yesterday. They also took care to wash down the walkway and sidewalk too.
