Henbit

This broadleaf weed is often found during late winter and early spring, standing much taller than surrounding turfgrass that has not begun growing. 

Henbit Facts:

  • Found late winter through spring
  • Winter annual
  • 6" to 12" tall
  • Square stems
  • 1/" to 3/4" scalloped and rounded leaves encircling the stem. 
  • 1/4" thin, oblong pink to purplish flowers at top of the stem
  • Spreads by seeds that can remain viable for many years

    Arich and his partner went above and beyond yesterday applying leafgro and organic soil enhancement to my huge yard.
