This broadleaf weed is often found growing in thin lawn areas with under-fertilized, poor soil but can adapt to other conditions.

Lespedeza Facts:

  • Found in summer to fall
  • Summer annual
  • Forms 15" to 18"  low-growing patches
  • Wiring stems with trifoliate (arranged in threes), oblong leaflets with a prominent mid-vein, and a short point at the ends
  • Pink to purple small flowers appear in late summer.
  • Spreads by seeds
